About
It’s always hard to say definitely which is the biggest rivalry of sporting club sin any given city, especially one the size of Sydney but it could be easily argued that the Sharkies and the Dragons have the biggest rivalry in Sydney.
It dates back to the emergence of the Sharkies out of the junior systems of St George, when the Sharkies were thought of as the little brother of St George and almost been a feeder for them.
When the Dragons and Steelers become a joint venture, there home bases surrounded the Sharks geographically, which really ramped up the rivalry which was highlighted when the then CEO of the Sharks cut up a St George shirt on ANZAC Day in 1998.
