The match takes place at the historic Belle Vue stadium, a ground that for far too long was a major issue for the host club as it was far below the minimum standard needed for a professional sports club, never mind a club of the history and stature of Wakefield Trinity.
With Belle Vue draining the club’s finances for much of the summer era and putting off both home and away fans, it has been great to see the improvements made to it.
Nowadays, it is a decent small Rugby League specific stadium and one with big plans to take it even further in the future.
A lot of the improvement can be put down to the building of a new main stand at the ground which runs the full length of the pitch and is an all-seater stand with some corporate facilities.
Behind one set of sticks in a large, two-tier terrace that is partially covered and that houses the bulk of the most vocal home fans and that helps to create an incredible atmosphere whenever Wakey play at the ground.
At the other end of the pitch is a tower of corporate boxes that give the stadium such a unique look and that makes it so easy to recognise on game days.
The final stand is a small terrace that runs the full length of the field that is still is urgent need of redevelopment.

The city of Wakefield is the capital of West Yorkshire and one of Rugby League biggest hotbeds.
It is home to numerous professional and semi-professional clubs as well as a plethora of amateur and junior sides.
It is no surprise therefore that Wakefield develops so many of the sport’s biggest stars, which h is also helped by it been located almost halfway across the M62 motorway, which is often thought of as the corridor of the sport’s traditional northern heartland.
