Hull KR v York Knights
Hull KR v York Knights News

The York Knights welcome the Wigan Warriors across the Pennines from the northwest of England to North Yorkshire in what is a potential match of the round contender between a host underdog and one of the giants of the sport.
The Knights have had their struggles during the summer era of the sport, but they have worked incredibly hard to get to the topflight of the sport.
With everything in place for the club to be successful, they now need to establish themselves in the topflight and whilst a match up against the likes of the Warriors may not prove to make or break for that, it is a great reward for the journey that they have been on.
With the underdog hosts also most having a free hit in this one and with the Warriors having huge pressure on them to pick up the points, this match is perfectly set up to be a great one and will be one that both sets of fans want to keep up with all of the news for.

Stadium
The match takes place Craven Park in East Hull, which is a mix of the old and new, the permanent and the temporary all mixed with the innovative.
The ground is made up of 5 separate areas at the moment, but it is a stadium that is set to be expanded soon, which has led to some temporary areas been put in place as the club sell out the majority of matches.
Down one side of the field is the city’s main stand, that features a mix of general access seating in the upper tier, some corporate facilities and a small terrace- commonly known as the ‘Well’.
At one end of the stadium is a modern all-seater stand that houses a mix of home and away fans, whilst the other end of the itch is home to a temporary all-seater stand and the innovated Craven Streat- home to street food and entertainment.
Running down the other side of the field is a large terrace, with a low roof that houses the bulk of the most vocal home fans, but the stand ends short, so a temporary all-seater stand runs between that stand and the end touchline.
All-in-all, that allows for around 11,000 fans to be there live in attendance and as is so often the case in East Hull, the house full signs should go up for this one.
Location
The match takes place in the city of Hull, or to be more precise, in the East side of the city of Hull as the city is a split one when it comes to Rugby League.
Rovers are traditionally the team for those in the east of the city, with Hull FC been for fans based in the west of the city, although both get fans from all over the region nowadays.
Hull itself sits on the banks of the river Humber, which separates East Yorkshire from Lincolnshire, with Hull also been at the far end of the M62 motorway, often thought of as the corridor that links the sports traditional northern heartlands together.
Hull is one of the closest cities for those travelling from York to get to, with Humberside been just to the southeast of the city, so there should be a bumper following from the Knights in attendance to help create a great atmosphere- although that isn’t something the Robins struggle with.
About
Although this is a Yorkshire derby, between two relatively close teams, it isn’t really a derby in the traditional sense mostly based on the two sides not playing against each other two regularly for the last few decades.
That’s not to say that there isn’t an extra interest in the match from both sets of fans and extra bragging rights on the line come gameday in what should be a great occasion.

Robins vs Knights Teams
Well before game day, the squads for the match are announced well in advance and that allows fans to be able to easy find out who has been selected to play in the match and who misses out on selection, plus the reason why those decisions were made.
They can then chat to fellow fans about it all and anybody else interested in the action including friends, family and work mates but despite all of that, the actual teams that take to the field can be much different than those announced earlier on.
There can be a few different reasons as to why the chances are made including injuries and illnesses plus suspensions or disciplinary matters.
Finding out the changes can be trickier as unless it is a star, the changes can often not get the same focus as the initial announcement but no matter who misses out and the reason why, we bring them all to you on this page.
