Stadium(s)
The match will likely take place at the impressive Stadium Australia, which is known by a few other names including the former Sydney Olympic Stadium, Homebush Stadium or the Accor Stadium.
No matter what you know it as, the stadium is one of the largest in the road and is the impressive home of many NRL sides, including the Rabbitohs as well as been the home of the New South Wales State of Origin side and it also hosts the NRL Grand Final.
The modern all-seater stadium features a lower-level bowl design, with two small stands wrapping around both ends of the field.
Down booth touchlines, the stands just continue upwards over a number of different tiers of general seating and corporate facilites, which all come together to allow for around 82,000 fans to watch the action from inside of the ground.
It is unlikely that that many will be there, but if in good form, there could be a bumper crowd in attendance which should give the players all that they need to entertain all of those watching, either in person or across the globe.
Location
The stadium is located in the Sydney Olympic Park, a suburb of Greater Western Sydney which is around 10 miles west of the Sydney CB (Central Business District).
Between 1989 and 2009, the area went by the name of Homebush Bay, which explains why many still call the ground by the colloquial name of Homebush.
As you would expect from its current name and from the stadiums name, it was in this part of the city of Sydney that hosted the bulk of the Sydney Olympic games events in the year 2000, and thanks to that, it is well connected by rail to many parts of the city sand to the amin downtown area.
The district sits in the City of Parramatta limits which has put the Rabbitohs more in direct competition with the Eels than they have for much as there history.
The Rabbitohs’ traditional home is on the Redfern suburb of Sydney, which is around 2 miles south of the Sydney CBD and it is still there where the club suffices and training ground is based and it is from there where there traditional fanbases comes from, although they do of course now have fans not from across the city but from across the country.
About
The Rabbitohs are one of the most historic clubs in the world and one of the most historic sporting clubs across all sports in Australia whilst the Knights are an expansion club but they two have a long history all of which adds to the interest and intrigue of these match ups.
