The match takes place at the Newcastle International Sports Centre, which may be known to fans by one of it numerous others names such as the Hunter Stadium, the McDonald Jones Stadium, the Marathon Stadium, the EnergyAustralia Stadium, the Ausgrid Stadium or even as Newcastle Stadium but no matter what you call it, it is the home of the Newcastle Knights.

The stadiums design also makes it easy to recognise when watching along on television as it features two huge multi-tier stands down each touchline with general access seating in the lower and upper tiers and plenty of corporate facilities in-between.

Each end of the stadium features a small bank of seating and a grass bank to give it a more traditional feel despite the huge modern stands found down the sides.

As well as hosting the Knights NRL team, the ground has hosted numerous international test matches including at the Rugby League World Cup when hosted in Australia.

The match takes place in the city of Newcastle, which is in the Hunter Valley in New South Wales, part of Greater Newcastle, which is the second most populous region of New South Wales outside of Sydney.

The city is a mix of the new and old, form historical civil buildings to a ultra-modern tram network, but it is the Broadmeadow district of the city that is the home of the Newcastle Knights as it is there where their stadium is location.

Broadmeadow is to the west of the Newcastle central business district and has its own train station, making it easy for fans from all parts of the city to get there.
