The match takes place at the impressive Stadium Australia, which is also referred to as either the (former), Sydney Olympic Stadium, the Olympic Stadium or Homebush and of course it also has had a number of different sponsored names down the years but no matter what you call it, it is the largest stadium in Australia.

The stadium is made up of a bowl-like shape that is single tier behind the sticks and 4 tiers down the sides, where all of the corporate facilities are also found.
All in all it can host around 80,000 fans when full and whilst it can often be far too large for many regular season matches, for a game such as this one the stands will be packed and the game will always have a big game feel to it, no matter the current form of the 2 clubs and where in the calendar it is played.
Location
The Rabbitohs are based in the Sydney suburb of Maroubra, with their former ground been located in Redfern and whilst they have traditionally represented the southern suburbs and municipalities of Alexandria, Botany, Mascot, Waterloo, Redfern and Darlington in the south of Sydney, they now have fans based not just throughout Sydney but across the country.
Since the clubs move to Stadium Australia, their matches take place in the Sydney Olympic Park, which is the Greater Western Sydney suburb and around 10 miles from the Sydney CBD.

This is arguably the biggest and oldest sporting rivalry in Australia as both sides were established way back in 1908 and have competed at the top level for all of that time.
