Brisbane Broncos v Dolphins News
The Brisbane Broncos welcome their near neighbours and city rivals, the Dolphins, to their shared home ground for a match up that has quickly become one of the highlights of the season for both fanbases and increasingly, for general fans of the sport.
If that opening statement sounded confusing, it is because the Dolphins lack of geographic name and multi-location set up make sit tricky to say if these two are Brisbane rivals or Queensland rivals, but one thing is for sure, there has quickly been a rivalry developed since the formations of the Phins.
Right from the off when the first ‘Battle of Brisbane’ took place in front of a sell out crowd at the impressive Lang Park, these matches have become the fixture for both fanbases to look out for and the match of the round for neutrals to enjoy.
To feed all of that interest and intrigue, just about every sports news outlet will focus on the match and even non-sports outlets will feature news regarding the game.
Whilst that should make it easy for all of those with an interest in the Brisbane Derby to keep up with the news, it can actually make it tricky as there is too much news and too much of it is nonsense no fans need to know.
Here at 13v13, we cut through all of the noise to bring you the headlines that matter to fans.

Stadium(s)
The match takes place at the iconic Lang Park stadium in the heart of Brisbane that has an infamous nature to it in the sport of Rugby League thanks to the numerous matches that is has hosted down the years including NRL matches, State of Origin matches, international test matches and Rugby League World Cup matches including one of the most famous RLWC finals when the Kiwis shocked the hosts to win the title.
Perhaps better known to many as Suncorp Stadium due to long-term sponsorship reasons, the stadium is one of the most recognisable in the sport due to its steeply banked sides and maroon and gold seating- fitting for the home of Rugby League in Queensland.
Although the ground is classed as been an historic one, it has been completely rebuilt from the ground up to where it is now a modern all-seater stadium capable of hosting around 52,000 fans when full, as it will be for this battle.
The bulk of the ground is made up of 3 steeply banked tiers of general access seating, with some corporate seating at the back of the middle tier.
Down one side are some corporate boxes, and the main stand also features lots of media facilites expecting from a high-quality stadium.
Nicknamed ‘The Cauldron’, the stadium is well known for its incredible atmosphere and whilst that is often more prominent on State of Origin nights, this game has already shown to be match for those occasions and should be once again for this battle.
Location
The match takes place in the Queensland city of Brisbane, which is the full-time home of the Broncos and the part home of the Dolphins NRL team.
To narrow it down further, it is in the inner suburb of Milton where the ground is situated and where the action will take place which is a little under 2 miles to the west of the Brisbane central business district, or CBD for short.
The suburb has strong links to the downtown districts of Brisbane via ferry and rail, which makes it easy for both sets of fans to get to the ground in big numbers.

They can digest all of the news and then discuss it all with friends, family and other fellow fans but despite all of that, the actual team that will step out and take to the hollowed turf of Suncorp Stadium could easily be different to the announced teams.
