Stadium
The match takes place at The Jungle, or Wheldon Road if you prefer, which is one of the most historic grounds in England.
Unfortunately, much of that historic nature of the ground comes from the lack of investment made it for far far too long to the point where it is now one of the worst stadiums of any sport in England.
Lots of the ground is open to the elements, lots of it struggle for safety certificates and all of it lacks the facilities expected nowadays and the corporate facilities needed for the club to thrive.
To be fair to the club, they know all of that and they have been trying for a couple of decades to either get a new ground or a full refurbishment, but things continue to stall.
On a positive note, one great thing about the ground are the fans that fill it game in game out as the Cas Tigers fans are amongst the most passionate in the sport.
Although certainty not close to each other, this is one of the closest away games for Hull based Airlie Birds fans and that often leads to a big away following.
So, although the ground gives a poor optic and struggles to give that big game feel and even though the pitch is far to small to even meet minimum requirements, the passion of the fans should be all that they need to produce their best Rugby League football.
Location
The match takes place in the West Yorkshire town of Castleford, which is in the Wakefield district and close to the city of Leeds.
With Featherstone also just down the road, this is one of the most vibrant areas for Rugby League in England at a professional, semi-profession and amateur level, with the region creating many of the sports stars.
Cas is located almost centrally along the M62 motorway, which is thought of as the traditional heartlands of the sport in England.
About
Although around an hour drive away, this one often does have a derby feel to it as it is the closest game for many Hull fans, aside from derbies.
That does add an extra element of intrigue to it and an extra buzz on match day.
