Stadium(s)
The Broncos have one of the biggest and best Rugby League stadiums in the world that is also one of the easiest to recognise on game day.
Known to many as Suncorp Stadium due to a long running sponsorship agreement, Lang Park is both an historic and modern stadium as the ground has relatively recently been rebuilt form the ground up to where it isa now a huge, multi-tiered all-seater stadium with excellent corporate facilites.
The stadium features a mostly bowl like design with steep sides which are mostly 3 tiers, with stand out features including huge tv screens behind the posts and the impressive colour scheme of the seats.
The ground is also impressive on the outside with plenty of space for fans, some statues of former greats but one of the most impressive elements of the ground is the sheer aura that it has.
That is down to the stadium been one of the most used grounds for big matches including been the home of the Queensland Maroons State of Origin side, been home to both the Dolphins and Broncos in the NRL and the international matches that have hosted there, including numerous international test matches, including matches at the Rugby League World Cup highlighted by the incredible final when New Zealand shocked the hosts.
Location
The Broncos are based in the Queensland leading city of Brisbane, which is one of the biggest cities in Australia and for a long time, the Broncos were the dominant force in the city.
Whilst they still have that claim, they now face a challenge form the Dolphins, so its probably a good job that the club attract fans from not only across the whole city, but from across the whole state and even further afield.
Lang Park itself is located in the Milton district of Brisbane, which is a riverside inner suburb of the city that is easy to reach from all parts of Brisbane.
Milton is to the south of Paddington, to the west of Petrie Terrace, to the east of Rosalie and to the north of south Brisbane which is all just to the west of Brisbane city centre itself.
About
Whilst on the face of it, these two clubs are relatively new ones, with the Broncos been established in 1987 and the Dragons merging just over a decade later but there is so much more history than that for both clubs which adds to the sense of occasion for these matches.
