Stadium(s)
The Bulldogs have two stadiums that they call home including their traditional home stadium of the Belmore Sports Ground and also their new home of the mighty Stadium Australia.
Belmore is a basic stadium with a traditional feel to it that offers a mix of a seating in a main grandstand, some terracing and a traditional grand bank.
All in all, that allows for around 17,000 fans to pack into the ground when full but that will likely not be enough for a bumper local derby such as this one, so it will likely be the giant Stadium Australia that will host the match.
Also known to many as the Sydney Olympic Stadium, it is one of the largest stadiums in the southern hemisphere as it can host around 82,000 fans when packed out and whilst the house full signs may not be up for this one, it will still be a huge crowd with many fans backing both sides for an incredible atmosphere- something that can often get lost in the cavernous stadium.
The stadium itself is all-seater and is a vast bowl-like design where the lower tier wraps around the whole of the ground but down the sides 2 extra tiers of general access seating head up into the sky and there is also corporate facilites along both touchlines.
The stadium is well known to fans of Rugby League as not only does it host the Bulldogs, but it also hosts other NRL clubs including the Rabbitohs as well as the New South Wales State of Origin Sides and the NRL Grand Final.
It has also hosted many international test matches, including at the Rugby League World Cup when hosted in the country.
Location
The Doggies are based out of the Belmore Sports Ground, formerly known as the Belmore Oval, which as you would likely expect is based in the Sydney suburb of Belmore, which is in the city of Canterbury-Bankstown from which the club get their name.
That puts them based around 11 kilometres from the downtown Sydney central business district whereas the match will likely take place in the Sydney Olympic Park which is around 13 kilometres Sydney central business district.
It used to be known as Homebush Bay before been turned into the Olympic Park district and many older fans still known the ground by the nickname of Homebush.
